The holidays are approaching for people all over the world, and Thanksgiving was last week in the United States. Have you visited your family, or have they visited you? Have you had friends over or gone to someone else’s house? This is the time of year for gatherings, and today’s game is the game for that. Poy Poy is a party/arena fighter released by Konami. The game came out in Japan and North America in 1997. In Japan it was known as Poitters’ Point . Europe saw Poy Poy in 1998. PlayStation Basement #66 - The Blazing Chef: Cooking Fighter Hao

This review was originally published on the  Console Purist  Facebook group on November 30th, 2019. Hello once again, and welcome back to the PlayStation Basement. PlayStation Basement is a weekly review of games for the original PlayStation that are somewhat obscure, unusual, or unknown. Games are rated Good, Bad, or Neutral to emphasis the review over just a number. Now, let’s go! Thanksgiving in the United States was earlier this week. The holiday is not without controversy, but, at its best, it is a time to share a meal with extended family and friends and remember the things that have gone well throughout the year. PlayStation Basement is a weekly review of games for the original PlayStation that are somewhat obscure, unusual, or unknown. Games are rated Good, Bad, or Neutral to emphasis the review over just a number. Now, let’s go! Yesterday was Go For a Ride Day, a day celebrating having fun via outdoor travel, so this week’s game follows suit. R: Rock’n Riders is a snowboarding game that was released only in Japan. The game was released in April of 1999 in two versions: a standard edition and a limited edition. The limited edition has its own special cover art along with art cards and an extra photo album disc. The limited edition emphasizes the celebrities that star in R: Rock’n Riders , contemporary J-rock and visual kei musicians transported into a future world oddly similar to Jet Set Radio , which was still a year a

PlayStation Basement #64 - Harvest Moon: Back to Nature

This review was originally published on the  Console Purist  Facebook group on November 16th, 2019. Hello! Welcome back to PlayStation Basement. PlayStation Basement is a weekly, Saturday review of an obscure or odd game for the original PlayStation. The games I review end up rated Good, Bad, or Neutral. The point is to emphasize the review over the score. Now, let’s go! This week, we will relax again for the fall. I’ve had a very rough week. I went to Myrtle Beach on the 8 th for a wedding, and I started coughing a lot on the plane. By the time we had landed a little over an hour later, I was really feeling tired and unwell. I’ve been pretty sick since then, missing work for this week and lying in bed for nearly the whole time. The doctor says it’s some viral thing, and I hope it goes away soon. Unfortunately, I was so sick that I could barely do anything, even play a video game. I did manage to get some time in for this week’s game – Harvest Moon: Back to Nature . I s
